The band is pleased to once again appear in concert with the Atlanta Wind Symphony. Earlier collaborations were a lot of fun and this marks the first time in about ten years that GBB and AWS have shared a program. Both directors have chosen some great music. AWS will perform works of Grainger, Marquez, Gibson and Mackey. GBB’s items include works by Richard Strauss and William Rimmer, as well as Philip Sparke’s Hymn of the Highlands. And just in case that isn’t enough, both groups will share the stage for John Williams’ Olympic Fanfare and Theme to close the program. It should be quite a show. Admission is free and we would love for you to join us.
